The Scene?

i've always downloaded music, movies, etc, but it hasn't been till now that i've
wondered more about the scene in general. i've done all the googling and such.
i'm wondering how you start getting into it, meaning connections and info on
groups and such, as well as access to some of the release ftps.

i was pretty much forced to leave the scene in 2001 (operation buccaneer
anyone?), but i'm guessing things haven't changed much since (apart from
security wise).

anyway, at the time, everything happened on irc, so i'd recommend you start
hanging out in the right channels, talking to the right people, and last but
definitely not least offer something that's in need - and you might get
somewhere.

it's a closeknit community with a lot of big egoes though, so watch who's toes
you step on 😛

on a slightly more serious note, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
what many people don't understand is that being in the scene is, to some
extent, like being in any other organized crime ring, what you're doing is not
legal and we're not talking about a slap on the wrists if you do get caught.
just look at what happened to bandido - he was friggin extradited to the us
and sentenced to 15 months (not counting the 3 years he was in aussie jail)
because of it all.
