RSS Feed "Invalid URL"

hi
running windows vista, 32x. have a static ip, and a successfully open port.

torrents downloading fine, but rss feed gets an "invalid" url error when
testing for updates to releases.

feeds tried
tvrss||http://tvrss.net/legacy/unique/
bt-chat||http://www.bt-chat.com/rss.php?mode=group&group=3
tvrss - eztv||http://tvrss.net/feed/legacy/eztv/
bt-chat - eztv||http://www.bt-chat.com/rss.php?mode=cg&group=3&cat=9

any advice?

are you able to access these feeds in firefox for example, and if so, how are
you accessing them in your bittorrent program, rss downloader in utorrent for
example?

ah, apologies - i left out that info
i'm using utorrent rss scheduler, and followed the instructions in the rss
tutorial linked off this page.
all except the tvrss.net/legacy/unique/ link work fine in the explorer browser

try running utorrent as administrator. (in the right-click context menu). vista
is really weird about applications saving files in particular locations, i'm
sure utorrent stores the rss xml feed somewhere (if only temporarily).

apart from that, ensure that your firewall is allowing utorrent to work on port
80 as well as your bittorrent port.

error continues with running as admin, and ensuring port 80 is open for
utorrent.
hmmm.
maybe i'll just turn off the pc for the night and let it have a jolly good
think about where it's priorities lie.

still having exactly the same problems noted above.
does anyone have any more ideas?

i don't think it's a vista file sharing thing, or permissions.
the utorrent torrents are working fine, and saving without hassle - whether i
have admin rights or not.

if i go to the utorrent rss downloader releases tab, and hit "update now" i
get the error straight away. - almost too quick to have even checked the
internet.

i've managed to sort out all my firewall ports, and have a nice big green
ticked circle indicating that the network is working fine for torrents.

i've updated to the latest stable release of utorrent, and my browser opens
the urls to all of the rss feeds that are in my feeds list (so it can't be an
internet access thing.

and as of today, i have the service packs installed bang up to date.

if this is just a me-thing, then that's my difficulty alone, but if anyone has
some friendly advice for me, that would be greatly appreciated.
