Are PMs offline?

i saw in site announcements that "pm counters" are not working, though i'm not
exactly sure what that means.

when i click on "private messages" i simply get "access denied" (and i am
logged in).

i'm wondering if that's expected or not, since there's one message in there
that i've been waiting some weeks to retrieve.

the counter means the total number and unread next to the private messages.
it's not calculating/showing these figures.

as to logging in, you have to be logged in on the forum and the main page.
then you'll be able to access your page, including pm's.

which i did read, of course (where do you think i learned about "pm counters"
in my first post?). and i'm logged in everywhere i can be and have been each
time i've tried this....

that was the ticket, thanks. before now, after logging in i've only tried
getting in via the "private messages" link, which has always denied me access
over the last month or so. but after i accessed "my page" (which i never even
noticed before let alone used) i was not only let in that way, but later the
"private messages" route worked as well. go figure.
