since discussions are disabled currently for news posts, here's the news post i
just recently put on the main page, feel free to comment about the upcoming uk
season:
even though the writers in america on strike, doesn't mean there isn't good
television being made elsewhere. here's your guide of premiere dates for some
really great uk television shows (with some notes for a few shows.)

torchwood -- january 16th -- first episode of the new series features james
marsters ('spike' from buffy the vampire slayer.)

primeval -- january 12th -- the timeline has been altered... how and why have to
be dealt with. is there any way to reverse the damage?

ashes to ashes -- mid february -- the spin-off to life on mars, set in the 80's
with returning characters from the original series.

bike squad -- january 4th -- a comedy series starting on itv.

lark rise to candleford -- january 13 -- depicting 19th-century life in the
oxfordshire hamlet of lark rise and the neighbouring market town of candleford.

brainiac: science abuse -- january 13 -- the sixth series of the show that,
well... [see news story on front page for clip link]

louis theroux -- january 13 -- two new documentaries: behind bars: a visit to
the san quentin state prison in california; and the hunters in which louis
explores the hunting industry in south africa.

fairy tales -- january 10 -- four contemporary adaptions of classic tales.
including one remake of cinderella with james nesbitt (of recent 'jekyll' fame.)

interesting things to look forward to from the uk in 2008 (with no set premiere
date):
bewitched -- a bbc produced version of the classic series.

lost in austen -- drama series starring jemima rooper as amanda, who lives in a
rented flat in london with boyfriend michael and is obsessed with author jane
austen. amanda ends up in the 19th-century world of pride & prejudice, swapping
places with fictional character elizabeth bennet.

taking the flak -- comedy about a team of bbc journalists - a smooth, veteran
correspondent, the harassed producer and the rookie stringer
