hrmmmm ... finally got around to watching this. gotta say - it's not great. it looks like the project started out with the bare bones of a reasonable idea, but along the way it's been sexed up and dumbed down into an overwrought simple minded mess. don't take the comparisons to intelligence too seriously - all it shares with it is nationality and the name of one of the agencies. other than that it's not even in the same league. ah ! *snaps fingers* just remembered what it reminds me of - a us show from a couple of years ago called threat matrix. not so much in terms of direct situations and themes, but the ham-fisted and clunky way it dealt with plots and characters. oh - and the acting ? cardboard would be ashamed. pity really - i guess i've been spoiled and expected everything that comes out of canada to be as good as slings & arrows, da vincis inquest, intelligence, regenesis, durham county etc, but in this case the producers seem to have copied the major us networks just churned out a formulaic bit of forgettable rubbish to fill space between ad breaks. |
