WTH!!! is this crap from BT?

i mean really. eztv is not big enough yet that they can not support there own
tracker? this bt stuff is bs. companys die by this. they think they have a fan
base. so they push more and more ads till they flop and die. come on guys..

get something figured out. i dont download commercial free tv so i can be raped
by ads online.

i dont get the popups on my browser, but it does seem to take longer than it
used to for the .torrent file to load.

hey, tvfan: i am using firefox and my cable internet (cox) is supposed to block
popups...but for some reason i get a pop up overlay on the screen and a new
webpage opened each time i click the links for bt downloads.

help a girl out by telling me what i'm doing wrong or have configured
differently than you do, plz?

i am well aware of the previouse issue.

this new "fix" doesnt even allow me to download a torrent, just sticks on
loading and then tosses pop-ups at me.

just use a decent browser (not microshite internot exploder) and don't click
on the bt-chat links unless you absolutely have to.

it is confusing though because i'm sure a little while ago the mininova links
were on the 1 and the bt-chat links were on the 2. i'm so used to clicking on
the 1 that i keep going to the bt-chat page and getting the little 'active x
component is trying to shit on your pc and therefore i've blocked it' bar.

meh.

i do use firefox. and i do realize eztv can not control bt. but what i do not
understand is why they still have them as the main link? why not switch it to
the mininova?

instead by doing this. how many thousands of clicks is bt getting and spamming. ☹️

i download virtually all of my files via the btc link, and i've not experienced
a single problem.

it still astounds me that people have the audacity to complain about something
that they get for free. wtf??????

and as for changing the mirrors, why bother? it will just cause more problems
than it solves. the regulars of the site know that 1. is bt-chat and 2. is
mininova.

my suggestion is either live with or create your own website for the purpose.
your choice.

really since som epeople have there heads so far up there ass they can't tell
the difference between someone bitching and someone with a genuine concern.

eztv is advertising to a site loaded with trojans, virus, pop ups etc. and god
knows what else to come. bt chat has gone to crap.

i have access to tl and other private trackers where i hold vip status and do
not use this site to download. i simply upload here.

but i find it annoying a site like this is linking many people who do not know
about the links/rules or have the knowledge to avoid these problems directly to
a malicious site.

many options. they could bump out bt until they get there act togethor. move
links. or find another site to use.

i seldom download off this site. but if you really feel you need to accuse and
jump to moronic conclusions because you want to "show your pride for eztv hoora"
then you need to get things figured out.

this is how sites die. by linking to garbage like what bt-chat has become!

i download else where and simply seed on here.
its a pretty simple setup.

and no thesite wont die but will decrease and hurt it over time.

isn't it a bit hypocritical to keep the bt-chat link as the main link when
you're aware of the content that it's linking to? how hard would it be to
swap the links back around so that people who don't use the site often would
at least be sent to a safe webpage.

fair enough swapping the links around when mininova didn't do the direct
download anymore but now, neither does bt-chat. it didn't take long for the
links to be swapped around the first time, yet it's been nearly a month since
this issue was first reported and it's just being treated like people
are 'bitching'.

if eztv has 'brand values' keeping this link as the primary link doesn't fit
with them. often it has been stated that eztv will not advertise or have any
scripts etc which i'm sure all of us are very happy about, i personally find
that to be an admirable quality of your website. but now, you are indirectly
responsible for many people experiencing potentially loads of pop-ups from
having bad active x components installed and god knows what else.

i just think that this current state of things doesn't 'fit' the eztv ethic,
especially since you are aware of the consequences of following the link.

properly configured browser = active x component installed?

because this 'semi-automatic' download doesn't begin on either of my browsers
automatically. (firefox and maxthon - also based on ie)

glad to hear there is going to be some new method soon. i don't think anyone
here is intending to bitch, but no one likes being directed to sites that want
to install things on their computer automatically.

ot: i tried so hard not to post in this thread, but it reminded me old joke
which was cir_culating in form of text file. it was called "aol'ers story" and i
would really, really like to find it again! it was hilarious...

ok, on topic again. to be sure, i just tried bt chat torrnet link and torrent
indeed downloads automatically. it just takes close to 10 seconds to start,
unless i click "download now" link. no popups, trojans, malware etc. appeared.
using firefox with few plugins... like abp. no problems, so apparently my
browser passes santabj(tm) test.

try waiting about 10 seconds and if there's nothing wrong in your end, download
should begin.

your argument that since i do not download i wouldnt know where the links go?
your an idiot. to seed you still need to get a hold of the torrent file which
involves clicking it.
i do not have active x. and again this is not to cover the few of us that know
about plugins etc. i can easily disable these garbage pop ups also.

i am referring to the other thousands who do not know much about plugins. and
really when they come to a safe site like eztv, should not need the plugins.

also i can bank 95% of the people downloading form here click on that direct
link. and have no idea about the mirrors

so stop referring to knowing the links etc. no one gives a fuck what you know.

i was trying to be civilized. not my fault i was attacked for trying to bring up
a valid topic.

still have not gotten an answer to if its being fixed.
its obviouse that this is a problem. and that the news says there may be a fix
coming.. but is anything coming?

i do like what eztv stands for. but i will take my upload bw elsewhere if this
is figured out.
