CDMA 2 NEXTG TELSTRA RIP OFF (Sorry non-Aussies)

f&@% me . . . (been ripped off $600 {2phones})

i just got told by my other half whose brother's mate's uncle works for telstra
(yeah i know .. my best friend's .. ferris quote)

you do not need to buy a *new next g * phone.. to upgrade from cdma


all you need is a phone that takes photos, and a $25 next g sim card

not believing, i pulled the sim o/o my prepaid next g and put into the kids
toy, an old digital samsung flip phone, and what do you know, i had nextg
service, you dont get the flash menus, but everything alse was the same


so then i tried in the son's prepaid sagem, worked even better


man , talk about the biggest scam ever,

this is the only forum i frequent, so i had to tell someone

the only benefit of the *upgrade* is keeping the number

c'mon, did you really expect any better from telstra?????
if you did, then you're a knucklehead 🙂
i've been trying to avoid them for years. and i tell anyone who will listen to
stay away from rip-off swamp, aka bigpond.

come to think of it, it's time i looked for a new home phone service.

but the phone will only be running on the 2.5g network, not on 3g - so the phone
will 'work', but your paying for a premium service your not getting...

all i want is the signal coverage, dont use any features, as long as i get the
coverage ,dont care what the phone does, besides its prepaid
