nuked means that there was a problem found with the file. eg. there was bits
missing, the sound is out of sync, it cuts out in sections etc. when a file is
nuked, it indicated that you should not download the file, and there will
usually be a better copy soon available. which usually has proper in the
filename.
so when downloading, always pick a proper above any other.
nuked = a release that has some sort of problem, usually video, audio, or size
related.
repack = the scene release group caught their own mistake and released a new
torrent for one they already released, fixing the problem.
proper = a different release group released a torrent, fixing a problem, or not
having it, that the winning release group released.
also look for addition words/combinations like
real.proper = means the proper was also nuked
real.proper.repack = as above
here are some real examples taken from actual .avi files i have
smallville.s07e09.proper.hdtv.xvid-xor.avi
smallville.s07e10.real.proper.hdtv.xvid-notv.avi
smallville.s07e11.repack.proper.hdtv.xvid-2hd.avi
98% correct except for the release group on torrents part. they release (pre)
stuff on private ftp servers which is how nuked and stuff are recognized, then
the rips leak to usenet and torrents by others. you usually dont see a non scene
rip trying to proper a scene rip or other non scene rip.
regarding mean comments from others, i'd say its pretty stupid to make fun of
someone for trying to learn something.
you are supposed to stay in your thread or not to aggravate people in others.
last warning. thanks.
funny man is not trying to aggravate anyone. asking questions like that is
noob-esque in funny man's view, and also, as many people have pointed out to
funny man on numerous occasions, "noob" is not an insult.....so where's the problem?
