hachiko: a dog's story is being filmed in part on my university campus
today and tomorrow, and they needed extras for a classroom scene.
i'm going to be one of those extras.
the casting company got 1300 emails in response to the email that they sent out
from students who wanted in as extras. and i just got complete confirmation
that i am in. granted, i actually went so far as calling ldi casting three
times (that's a lot for me), starting on friday, and emailing them multiple
times too. but who gives a fuck? i'm going to be in a scene with richard gere,
so my persistence paid off. and hey, how many people get to say that?
ahahaha! i am so beyond pumped. as a film student this is like a dream come
fucking true. even an unpaying gig as an extra. it's just beyond amazing. and
i know people will just think "okay...whatever", but you have to understand that
for a film geek: this is huge! especially if you will be trying to break into
the business in a few years. i can put this on my resume, and it will look
good. it will be even better if i can get four or five gigs as an extra,
because it means i will have seen what a legit film set looks like. i will have
witness it all.
gah! i cannot wait for tomorrow. i doubt i will sleep tonight. this is my
first real opportunity...step i can take into the business (besides going to uni).
