eztv facing lawsuits?

eztv has recently been confronted with numerous lawsuits. in order to finance
our legal costs we need your help to collect the necessary funds. that is why
from now on we will be password protecting our files. we are deeply sorry for
the inconvenience, but it is a necessary measure to protect the quality tv-rips
we have been releasing for so long.

in order to access the video file, please follow these instructions:
1. try renaming the .avi extension to .rar, the video file should be inside the .rar
2. please visit the following link.
3. simply enter your e-mail address below, chose a password and then click on
submit. make sure you use a valid e-mail or else it won't work. you will recieve
an e-mail within 2 minutes.
4. click on the confirmation link in the e-mail and use your username (e-mail
address) and password to log into your account.
5. make sure you continue until the members area. when you see "attention xxxmag
member", make sure you click the link at the bottom "to continue, click here".
6. the torrent password is located in the upper left corner inside the members area
(hint: password has 11 letters, starts with "h" and is case sensitive)

funny man has downloaded many torrents from here and this rubbish has never
appeared. sounds like a hoax to funny man.

you downloaded a file that was tagged as eztv but it was not a real eztv torrent

you should only download eztv torrents that have been uploaded by an eztv account

posting abuse doesnt really help anyone but hey....if it makes you feel better....

people have currently been attempting to mimic our site fooling people to
download fake torrents and donate money for apparent law suits.

as always people, validate sources before proceeding with anything you try to
download/give money to.

i think sstretchh's post was intended to be helpful - reporting a variation on
an old spoof. before coming directly here, i used to look for the [eztv] name
on the nova sites, and gullibly dl'd more than one .rar file. it didn't take
too many incidents of wasted bandwidth to figure out to check the "details"
tab - especially if it was an episode not also capped by the privates, on the
same night. if it was a .rar, i knew it was fake.

now, if i interpret this report correctly, the bastards are renaming their
*.rar *.avi and adding the "instructive" .html alongside, in the torrent?

that's a new wrinkle, and thanks for the information, sstretchh. if i was
still using those other sites, this might have fooled me, too.

as for eztv's legal problems, i should be able to chip in any day now. see,
there's this nigerian prince who just needed a bank account so he can get his
money out of his country...

i hate this sort of thing with a passion.

however there are millions upon millions of people and you will find people
come out of the woods confused and wondering wtf, it just a numbers game in the
end.

its not against the law to be stupid and like everything, a certain amount of
the worlds population are going to fall hard into this basket.


i use the comments and thank you's to tell the diff between fakes and the real
deal.

why would someone donate to eztv "legal team" without at least knowing the
community to start with? it says eztv doesnt take handouts anyway. i dont see
the harm in donations, but donations for bs and con men? cunts!

will they accept favours on the side? 😛 you know 😉. ya got to love em in
some way.

it feels sometimes when someone gives so much, you feel like you owe them. we
were offered $2000ca to do a web site and we refused the cash. creativity
works best when its not forced by dead lines and related arguments, and money's
end game always destroys creativity.

im the same i cant be bought, so in the end we left the project and just remain
as a consultant until he finds a more responsive web master..

if i donate to eztv legal defense, will i be able to download tv shows for free?

please do not troll this thread. it is enough that these fake sites exist, it's
another story when people make posts like the one above.

we don't and never will accept any form of money.
