It's watchable yeah but it's heavily grainy even on a 6" screen, the difference between
that and a 4k or even 1080p there's just zero competition. They're all watchable to an
extent even 144p YouTube videos but the lower you go the more flaws it will have.

Yes the size of a 1080 or 4k are much bigger In size but you don't miss a thing, the
colors are much better, clearer. You don't get that pixelation around the edges of
people/objects/shadows just to name a few things.

Some people can deal with those sort of videos, yet I can barely handle a 720p
because of the reasons mentioned above, Its like paying to go to the movie theater
to watch something new in UHD top quality but opting to watch it through your
phones camera instead zoomed right in lol.

To me it's like watching a TV show. Like why do you need 1080p for a cartoon ?
Watch what I I uploaded. is that watchable ?
BobWestbrook Posted at 04/09/2025, 00:57
If you're archiving these things, like I am, I don't need huge files.
The Inquisitor Posted at 04/09/2025, 01:05
Sometimes I need smaller file sizes so go with the 480p versions otherwise files around 600MB but sometimes max 3GB but they get deleted as soon as I'm done watching them.

I DL on my laptop, copy to USB sticks then watch through Bluray to my TV.

It sounds like a complicated process but Its what I need to do to watch on my LED TV and pause FW/RR as needed
Tyser11 Posted at 04/09/2025, 02:34
I tested the 480p you converted, it's no different to others I've seen, the conversion
totally depends on the original file. Like jff 720p for that file is a re encode of the
1080p (they all are), but to say it doesn't matter for things like animation even them
you notice a big difference.

A 720 x 480p = 345,600 pixels total... where as a 1980 x 1080p = 2,138,400 pixels.
True 4k nearly 9 million.

Them pixels are highly noticeable, have you ever multi screened the same file, play a
1080p and a 480p at the same time, same screen. You will see the difference
regardless of file your playing.

Small HQ files are quick, you get more in terms of episodes but they still lack the
quality of larger HD - FHD - UHD it just all comes down to preference, quantity or
quality.

Must be that my TV upscales well. I don't get grainy.
Tyser11 Posted at 04/09/2025, 13:34
Both my tv and phone are 4k and it was like it on my my phone and that screens
nowhere near a 40+ inches, that would be worse than the smaller phone screen.

Perhaps your just not noticing it because your used to watching them where as I
watch 4k hdr files. I spot the difference instantaneously.
BobWestbrook Posted at 05/09/2025, 17:29
1) Your is not you are, it's you're
2) You probably expect to watch cartoons in 4K. What a nonce. Some of us want to save HDD space.
3) Do you delete everything after you watch it ?
4) Watchable doesn't have to be pixel perfect, it has to be watchable.
Tyser11 Posted at 05/09/2025, 18:29
1. No nonce, only a nonce would say that lol. I Just prefer watching good quality.
2. No I don't delete everything after I watch it, I don't need do because I actually PAY
for multiple subscriptions and tools that all have unlimited storage... Meaning I don't
need to download small files just to save hdd space. (The smart option).
3. As stated 144p is watchable but it's sh.it quality anything lower 1080p is (in my
opinion).
4. Your, you're, all you are doing pointing out a simple auto correction I obliviously
failed to notice, good job, 5 stars.

I fully agree with Tyser11 ✓

Although, my mother is exactly like you; Mr. WestBrook. And some people also like to eat
poo. To each, their own.
