comcast must die. i am so fucking sick of the slow internet speeds where i
live. seriously, it is taking a full minute to load pages. youtube is failing
on me. i can't stream videos from anywhere without constant buffering. their
service has gone to absolute shit lately. and by shit i mean even worse than
their already shitty original low.

what the gosh darn fuck is wrong with you!?!?!

we have high fucking speed shit here. i think the best package you can get from
comcast. and we are getting jacked! it has been like this for months. this is
absolute asscrackery. if they are going to sell a product, it damn well be what
they say it is.

granted i never got glorious download speeds with comcast, but i never had to
deal with shit this bad. i should not have to wait 15 hours for a damn 350 mb
file on high speed broadband. it's an outrage! a scandal! /harry potter

shouldn't someone be dealing with these people?

and my parents won't do shit about it. they're the ones paying for this crap.
at university i get the best fucking speeds i have ever gotten. i can get a
350mb in 10 minutes. it's perfect. i am going to fucking die over summer
vacation if i have to deal with 4 fucking months of this bullshit.

comcast should be shot in the face by dick cheney. or should we say commie
cast? communist cast?

i have tv to watch and can't watch it if you don't stop acting like fascist twats.

fuck you comcast. fuck you with sandpaper wrapped in rusting barbed wire!

*is pissed off*

that's absolute crap! how the hell can these people be in business? i honestly
have half a mind to call them up and bitch them the fuck out. my mom called
them up in january and they said they were having a "temporary problem".

this ain't temporary! this has been long fucking term.

i have an 11 mb connection. it should not be this slow. i used to have speeds
of 250 kb/s downloading. now i am excited if i hit 30 kb/s, cause it's just
that bad.

granted, i could have it worse. but my parents are not getting what they are
paying for.

i'm pretty sure that's misrepresentation of product. and furthermore, i am sure
that is illegal.

this slow of download speeds is unacceptable for what i know i can get. am
supposed to get.

sorry you seem to have such poor service. i myself have been on comcast for over
4-5 years. started at 3mb and as they bumped their bandwidth up i continued to
improve. now, i pull consistent 750k total downstream.....

i myself have no issues with comcast. i think it comes to regional management
more then the company as a whole.

where i go to college we have cox. it's fucking amazing.

i just tried talking to my parents about it to prove that comcast was fucked up.
they kind of agree. i tried to help my mom use abc.com's media player because
she missed dancing with the stars, and it wouldn't stream. i tried having her
dl firefox just because sometimes firefox will fix everything (cause ie sucks
balls) and i think it stayed the same. i might just bootleg it for her to save
her the time. she really wants to watch it.

if cox is available here, i want to try to get them to switch over. i like cox.
it works at my school. and those of whom i know who have it, like it much more
than communist cast.

p.s. what do you mean by shaping? for whoever asked that...

i live in connecticut. go to college elsewhere. but everytime i am home i get
shit speeds.

and comcast is the only service available here. it's fucking shit! whatever
happened to choice? this seriously is like fucking communism. unless i have
the definition of communism wrong. maybe fascism.

it's gotten worse almost every day since i have been back. makes me think they
are capping my bandwidth.

soory for the confusion, i have windstream. they recently bought out the older
company and thats when my speeds came into effect.

just to add a data point, in downstate illinois, comcast recently bought our
local cable company. our speeds have been unaffected after 2 months; i still
get 768k up even while running excessively many torrents. comcast has claimed
that they only employ their tcp ack method when your neighborhood's available
bandwidth is saturated. this could explain why they seem to have rolled this
technology out network-wide yet some people have no trouble. good thing there's
so many old people in this area.

we have a confirmed, consistent work-around the sandvine attack, but i'm
not
going to make it easier for sandvine. unlike bep-0008, the work-around is not
cryptographic in nature.

i am sure comcast will scream at them soon.

if you are bittorrent developer then email me.

i tried an experiment on the rst packet theory.

weve been lucky to get 30 kbs max on torrents with our isp.

as the title says fuck em.

i jacked my max connections up to 8000 and my conects per torrent to 3000 and
my upload slots to 200. i set a proxy up not sure that did much. in advanced
serttings i boasted the connection speed from 20 to 200. and download 3
peered/seeded up torrents files from eztv.
meaty torrents.

wow i was getting 150kbs throttled.

theory is that most of the rst packets were being sent to connection that more
than likley are refused on the basis that the both client would prolly reject
the connection anyway, id say there may be limit to how many rst packets are
going to be sent and you watch it try and choke them all. its funny to watch
utorrent own the throttle as i get lil bits from everywhere. i have a feeling
the hardware has its limits. still not my 150kbs @ 5mbs connection speed but
much better than 30kbs.

any thoughts?

still cruising along at 120/150 kbs and connected to over 500 seeders and 160
leeches out of the large swarms.

i live in the us (jersey to be specific) and i have had very little issues with
bandwidth.

however i do live in the burbs, so there are a ton of teenagers txt their bff
through myspace and what not. but that seems to only happen when i come home
from work. i can remote into my machine during the day and the speeds are
usually up.

i had a buddy that worked at my isp (cablevision) and ran a check for me and i
was not being capped or had ever been. apparently they only cap people who they
think are running servers...which isn't me.

in another thread a while back, i had said how i have dealt with them sending me
letters. i call up as my father and say my son set up a "rooter" (router being
the correct word), they do some tech stuff and apologize. 2 times already. got
a third letter for grabbing a copy of repo man in november...got the letter 2
days ago! told my pops not to sweat it and problem solved.

i did add the boost to my bill and things have been faster than before. it
appears that i seem to get more than the neighbors, but that could just be
because they are not on at that exact moment. either way fuck people from
stopping anyone from downloading. if they aren't selling it for profit, then
you are not breaking the law as far as i am concerned. and above all else,
prove they were sitting there doing it...instead of bullying them into
settlements (pointing the finger at you riaa).

sure their speed may be fast, but like someone earlier said they monitor the
content being transferred. i got 3 warning letters about copyright
infringement for using torrents. f*ck comcast bunch of pricks i cancelled and
went wireless. not as fast but at least i'm not being blacklisted as a
terrorist for copyright violations.

us citizens beware you are jeopardizing your freedom by allowing comcast/at&t
to monitor your traffic and label you as a threat to the community.

6694kbps downstream / 956kbps upstream

i also an a former insightbb.com illinois customer

you should have them come out and check your packet loss and line noise.
there night be some other problem they dont know about

i live in tennessee and when comcast bought timewarner i kinda figured that
anyone with that kinda money doesn't worry about the individual customer. i
think its ironic that they advertise that there are no pesky contracts to
sign, then they raise they're rates every month. sure i had to sign a one
year contract with direct tv (29.99 per month for twice the "watchable
channels" at half the price i was paying time warner) and bellsouth(at&t)
(29.99 per month for a slow dsl package), but i still get 150-200 kb/s
download. the point people should pay attention to though, is the fact that
countries like south korea get bandwidths that exceed the fastest available in
the us, and they don't pay extra. it comes along with power, water, and the
rest of their utilities. i have to say though, i'm not surprised, this being
one of a handful of major countries left in the world where healthcare is a
profit driven industry. the bottom line will always be profit over
accessability, afterall, if you can't afford it then you either don't need it
or don't deserve it. god bless our economy.
