i don't have a problem with it on moral grounds or anything like that, but, come on, it is kinda gross in that sense. hypocritical or not, pc or not, i say it's just icky. so, i look away for all of nine seconds, not a big deal, i guess. what is a big deal is finally settling down to watch what i've downloaded, only to realize i already watched this last week. meh. |

the problem for me with this season's torchwood is that the show has become a directionless mess. we have no real over-arching plot, a little character development from owen and thats it. the gay scenes only bother me because they're out of context and have no relevance to the plot. to add insult to injury, they've made almost every character gay or bisexual which makes no sense. is there some secret rule at torchwood that you have to be willing to shag everyone on the team at least once? if not then why are the writers dedicating so much screen time to who's shagging who? if the writers want to give us a gay relationship then fair enough, but we don't need these in your face scenes every week which are entirely separate from the rest of the episode. i guess you could argue that they've tried that a little with captain john, but honestly if your whole story arch revolves around a homocidal ex-flame, then you need to hire some decent writers. it doesn't matter if that ex-lover is a member of the same sex or not, it's still a weak idea. torchwood should be better than this, the writers of the show need to take a look at jekyll and get some ideas from there. now that was a show which was aimed at a mature audience and pushed the envelope. give us more episodes like adam and we'll stop complaining and just for the record, that episode did feature scenes with jack and lanto, did anyone complain that week? no and you know why, it's because the scenes they did were relevant to the episode. so russell t davis, if you're reading this, people mostly want torchwood for the science fiction, not the sex. i have no desire to see any of the cast of the show naked. i don't need these lame sex jokes, or shots of jack without his top on. if people want nudity, or softcore porn they have the internet. tell us a sci-fi story and we'll keep watching but if the show continues to degenerate we'll tune out. |

i don\'t have a problem with the welsh thing - i have a few welsh friends so i can\'t be discriminating against them - i just don\'t want to see it or hear it - keep it behind closed doors please. |

which is why you shouldn\'t even remotely believe anything that hasn\'t been peer reviewed and retested. science isn\'t about blind belief. also putting everything in quotes makes you look like a pompous ass.
no, it\'s outside of society\'s accepted norms (although that varies widly depending on where you are). if something is so unnatural are you going to go out and stop all the species that get it on with same-sex activities? are you going to stop the world from having sex with protection because it isn\'t for procreation? sex was intended for that so without the intention of offspring it becomes unnatural and unproductive. oh, wait, society\'s generally held values have changed over time! who'd have thought it? |

for me personally i couldn't care less if the characters are straight or gay it's more the fact that their just doing it gratuitously and without it being relevant to the plot. if you take a look at sincity for example the sex scene with marv is relevant to the plot so it makes sense for it to be there, on the other hand sex scenes in other movies usually are not relevant to the storyline and don't need to be there. we don't need a social agenda pushed down our throats. jack kissing the odd guy doesn't really bother me, nor does gwen making out with reese. all i ask is that it needs to be relevant. |

i don't know what show the ones that complain have been watching. i've watched torchwood since the first episode, and since day one the show has had the same sexual content. i don't think it's there to be gratuitous or to promote an 'agenda,' the show is just generally sexually charged. i mean, really... the show hasn't changed that i've noticed. it's always been how it is, and i for one have loved torchwood for that and many other reasons. |

you idiot, doctor who is now and has always been a children's programme. if you don't like gay stuff so much then why do you have a big stick up your arse? i wish you could hear yourself ... "i'm fine with black people, as long as they're not shoving it in my face". fucking breeders. |

for some of us, it kind of is. so what's that about the show having always been sexually charged? i mean, there's no t&a to balance it, not even an attractive female character. not much of a "spectrum," when it's mostly just jack kissing some guy or another. i understand people defending it on the grounds that it should be ok for it to have a gay bias, but to try to say that it doesn't? i don't understand that so much. |
