Copyright policy question on DMCA

i was wondering what the copyright policy is on telivision shows. does it
break the us dmca to download tv shows though a bittorrent program? i
recieved a dmca violation though my school for john adams. they laim that
they had recieved a complaint about it from somewhere. i was wondering since
it is from hbo does that makes some differnce. i live on campus at my
permanent address we subscribe to hbo. i just do not see the problem but maybe
i am just dense. i really enjoy my british shows so i hate to lose them.

thx for the advise. it never even crossed my mind that hbo would though a

hbo is a pay channel, thus treats things differently than normal regular
stations. it's like downloading ppv.
