i agree, absolutely no comparison to bsg - the best series ever (watched the whole darn thing 3
times all the way through ... so far)
(oh, and i am a fairly average mom!) lol lol

stargate universe no 4 is missing can anyone help as to where to download
zulu01 Posted at 05/12/2009, 17:58
this is sush a sad sad sad series , i never knew sc fi could be so boring, i loved sg1 sga they were
great, and bsg.

the acting is awful, more down to the script than anything else, they cancel stuff like firefly that was
bright , funny and most importantly entertaining!, and im afraid this isnt, i saw the writing on the wall
after the second ep, i thought to myself , ok its new give it a chance, it might improve over time, and i
bet many of you thought,or think the same. but for me thats it.

i stopped after ep9, they have gone in the wrong direction, as soon as they started doing all that bloody
looking into camera stuff, telling there feelings and such, oh my god! wat rubbish.

so for me this is it, its a shame cus i was so looking forward to it, to me it smells like its done on
purpose, after this gets taken off (and it will!) you wont find many putting there hands up with a new
idea for a sci fi show. sad sad day,

what about the 720p version?

indeed. then you can be bored to tears in hi def !!

oo

what a shit show this really is turning out to be.

do something already ffs.

back into my bottle.... where it's all puppies, bewbs and good tv.

i like the show. i like how personal they get with the characters. they do it well.

then go watch battlestar.

battlestar is too moody (and boring), so i'd rather not. sgu is the perfect balance between
character development, aliens, and action.

also notice how sgu is nothing like sg1 or atlantis.

gee what clued you in? was it the fact that the creators said it wouldn't be? or was it all the
pre-release articles stating that exact same thing you just said?

no, sgu is nothing like sg1 or sga. it's by design, and about time too. the sg1 format was getting
kind old in sg1, and when sga was more of the same it got old pretty quick too. i enjoy this series
very much. not more than sg1 and sga, but not less either. the type of enjoyment it brings is
different, but still very good.

if you don't like it, then go watch pokemon or whatever other shows you watch.

you stopped at 9, but this episode (10) is actually the best one so far. i actually want to watch the next ep.
tanelm Posted at 06/12/2009, 15:43
i like it too. i'm not happy with "them" getting personal with the characters but still its the best
show in a week besides house md.
eslachance Posted at 06/12/2009, 18:38
hey... why does the show say "pending" at the moment, but there is no news for it? i haven't found
anything on google about it...

any ideas?
Matchstalkman Posted at 06/12/2009, 20:36
i had a wee panic attack when 1x10 didn't show up last week - i feared cancellation because few
people are actually giving this show a chance. i'm glad it's not like sg1 or sga. i don't even think
it's like bsg except for the camera work but then nypd blue did that type of camera work too.

anyhow, i must thank the cappers and uploaders for the previous eps. i would not be able to watch
this otherwise - my digital satellite box is borked. kudos to you all!

there are some things i do not like about the show but i'm biting my tongue. after all, it's a new
direction for the sg franchise and realistically, i'm guessing the producers don't want folks
relating it to earlier incarnations.

it's nice to see actors playing real people with real worries and concerns. ultimately, they're in
no shape to go up against any enemies at the moment so it will give the producers a chance to
develop appropriate character traits in any future adversaries. at least no wraith and no goa'uld.

and ask yourself this, 'if i was stranded billions of light years from home with little hope of
getting back, would i not want to leave some kind of record that, if the improbable happened, at
least my family and loved ones would know that i was thinking about them?'

i haven't seen this ep yet - still downloading it as i write. best moment of the series so far?
young getting the better of telford in ep 9. "dr volker? welcome to earth." ha-ha-ha! excellent. my
fingers are crossed that sgu will pick up the awards that it so rightly deserves.

nice to see bobby carlyle on screen again. he is vastly underrated as an actor.

come on guys it already looks like its getting better. kino diaries (i agree terrible) are not coming up
as much. alien ship.... good, rush gone......good, murder/sucide (aka action) .... good. i also just
looked at the possible new episodes (if right) look like their is going to be some good one in thier.
mixed in with a few boring, "look into the past" type episodes.

i still have hope
Kargor Posted at 09/12/2009, 12:14
rush isn't "gone" --- or at least, i don't think they'll ditch him just like that. that's just the
cliffhanger for the midseason break.

on the other hand, it also means that they somehow get around the autopilot issue (i never had
problems with individual characters, it's more like the whole autopilot thing that i think won't
work longterm). either that, or the <you know what if you've seen the ep> works better than it looks
and allows him to return.
nik469 Posted at 10/12/2009, 16:18
so, the question is sgu working?

at present i would say that sgu has the right elements in the mix for a modern offering in the sci-fi arena.
more character based screen time has worked in the past. yes i'm talking about bsg, anyone that
doesn't see the influence is in my opinion, a bit strange.

i can understand the thought of the creative team to produce a show that is distinctly different from it's predecessors'. as any fan of the franchise would in some way agree the attraction of the antecedent
offerings was the dynamic mix of 'shits and giggles'. with the current mix my personal feeling is they
have tipped the scales too far in the wrong direction. for example the introduction of the comm stones i
think detracts from focusing on the ship and 'crew'. how much screen time has been wasted with filler
back on earth. many have mentioned bsg and to draw a parallel bsg was initially relatively hardcore,
33 minutes was it? and then developed into a somewhat socio-political entity which i happily admit
kicked arse. the point being it held true to grass root sci fi values and on the strength of that branched
out and succeeded . this is what i think sgu should do if that is the path they are aiming for. if it
wasn't for the fact i have so much 'good will' built up from previous sg i cannot say i would be as avid a viewer.

my fear is sgu will shoot it'self in the foot trying to be unique whilst ignoring it's history.

sgu is not the show i expected. i expected more adventures, new story line, energetic characters. week
by week still hoping show will be better. but it's same. same theories, slow story line nothing like
science fiction. it's about peoples emotions.
actors are doing good job. but i dont think they can make a difference. shows popularity going
down week by week.
one thing is good, ez-tv uploading a10, v10 even though m0. cheers for the up loader...
lurch001 Posted at 10/12/2009, 21:29
i am starting to think the show might be a dog - the sad thing is that it's almost a clone of bsg and st
voyager intermixed. add a piss poor plot and some characters i find boring, (i am trying to like them,
really i am) i wonder if this show will make it out of it's first season ....... because if it doesnt improve i
am not willing to give it more time. the only reason i started to watch it because of robert carlyle .
Friedrich Posted at 11/12/2009, 22:50
i hate the autopilot & the stones, they are annoying. ch.. 10 was the first i
