ok... didnt care for it, booooooriiiing... so sorry... i live in the us and i dont give 2 shits
about the "english language".. the movie was just not anything that *i personally cared for<~ this
doesnt meant that it wasnt good..it just means that i didnt like it, and not everybody is going
to..so get over it...

i did like the movie short at the beginning, that was cool!

big thanks to eztv for allowing me the opportunity to see this movie!

**edit**

most of that above was directed at a few of the lame comments, i suppose i need to explain "why" i
didnt care for the movie..

poor focus... to much time spent upon the secondary storyline the "romance" not enough time devoted
to the p2p/file-sharing portion of the storyline ..

but like i pointed out, thats just my opinion...

the english language has degraded to the point that adults are talking in the 3rd or
4th grade
education level.

let's go back to the king james language, move up to the language of america's forefathers and
compare it to today's english level. the language is progressing backwards, not forward. at this
rate, the language we know today would continue to progress to the very beginning when the english
language was created in it's first year.

so who's fault is this? while i do not lean entirely on the school children for not paying attention
in the english classes, i also blame the educators for failing our children as well. not only that,
children today frown upon education as a whole. they see it as meaningless. they have been replaced
by fads instead. such as music and fashion (rap music and wearing your pants low while showing the
underwear. oh btw, did you know this low pants fashion first started in prison? if you wear it low,
it means you're somebody's bitch and it's not from the opposite sex, if you catch my drift).

today's generation has become pathetic & lazy (there's no value in hard work and they don't see it).
the percentages of graduates in both hs and college is at a all time low. (hint: google it) kids
today that go to work, but don't want to work. they just want the money.

family value isn't what used to be. certainly not the beaver cleaver generation. the young
generation view babies as something you can pitch into the trash can.

ok, i'm done.

/soap box off

since you're off your soap box, i'm going to make sure you don't jump back on it. you're sitting
here complaining about how the english language "is progressing backwards," when the english
language states that that statement doesn't make any sense.

so, mr. high and mighty, let me introduce you to a "new" word: regress (regressing, regression, etc).

please, if you're going to sit here and bash students and educators, at least say what you mean.

"at this rate, the language we know today would continue to progress to the very beginning when the
english language was created in it's first year."

just think about that statement and stay the hell off of your soap box. you're not very good at it.

oootimmy Posted at 24/12/2009, 18:15
bear fact: i thought the film was gr8

phoenix2000 Posted at 25/12/2009, 02:33
i am currently downloading the movie, so as such i have not seen it yet, but a few comments spoke to me.

firstly i have two teenage daughters, so i think the "like totally" is not going to get to me like
like it did another poster cause i have been desensitized to it.

as far as the apple placements, get used to it. so long as we download and pvr, i am more guilty
than the average person, thus bypassing commercials, the cable companies are going to do whatever
they have to do to force new products on us to pay for programming, even though they have found the
holy grail of incredibly cheap to make, addictive to the uneducated, reality programming that
pollutes my tv.

the comment that most grabbed me was by tfreak. it is so true, schools are churning out illiterate
graduates by the bus load and it is getting worse and worse. furthermore these kids have an
entitlement complex. if i had a nickle for the number of kids i overheard on public transit talking
about how they can't live with their parents so they are going to leave home and make it on their
own, as soon as they stop by the welfare office.

i am so sick and tired of hearing people talking about free free health care in canada. it is not
free, it is paid for by the tax payers, so don't waste it on frivolous unnecessary visits. same with
welfare and employment insurance. it is not free. hard working people pay for it. oh and if i hear
another person talking about those who actually work, making a lot of money able to pay for things
for them cause they have lots of money, i will scream. yes some people in this world actually have
initiative, aspirations and want to make something of themselves. i for one did not have rich
parents, so no trust fund, no inheritance. i left home when i was 18 with 100 bucks in my ass pocket
and found a job that day (back when you could). i went to school for my final year and worked. years
later i went to college for for 6 months in computer science. only course i could afford. i
struggled at the start, raised 2 step daughters and a son. i steadily increased from minimum wage to
just under 6 figures a year in 20 years. i believe in charity and helping those in need, but what i
can't stand is how those who are capable of working can justify the comment he makes good money, he
can pay for this for me. oh and don't give me this bs about we are in a recession. i do contract
work. i have gained two full time contracts this year, another contract for 200 hours i did on
evenings and weekends and supported follow up work from 3 previous contracts. both of my full time
contracts allowed for as much overtime as i could handle and i took advantage of it. i have had to
turn away work. work is out there if you want it. if you don't know how to find it, find out how,
you have the free time.

consider this logic for a moment...

in canada companies urge the government to bring educated immigrants in because there are not enough
educated people to choose from in canada.

why are there so few educated people in canada. because educated people, like me, have finally
realized that having aspirations and wanting more just means more stress, time away from family and
paying more taxes to pay mostly for lazy people who want someone else to take care of them, so why
educate yourself. why not just get by on the bare minimum?

logic dictates the government should reward those for their hard work to encourage people to get
educated and have initiative, but they are not going to do that because that is not their agenda.

yes the fall of the traditional english language is sad, just as is the fall of the art of
calligraphy, but that is evolution. the fall of english and calligraphy will not destroy us as a
people. laziness and the air of entitlement will. i feel so sorry for my children and my children's
children.

sadly the former is heavily influenced by the latter two.

i think you'll find it's a feedback loop too.
RedMatrix Posted at 27/12/2009, 07:49
i saw the movie, and it was *almost* unbearable.

i wish the camera had light on it, because the bar scenes were awfully dark.

also, i wanted to see the finished "video" that the actor was creating for his friend. all we see
are a few bear animations (which are great).

i do think a lot of screen time was allotted to people on their mp3 players. i don't care if they
were ipods or not. just because a headset is white does not mean it's an ipod now. the point was
that we have grown accustomed to listening to music all of our waking lives. also, if in (bear)
fact they were all ipods, it is just a pulse. there *are* a lot of those out there. it's just a
fallacy that the film makers chose to show all ipod listeners.

hey, are the film makers trying to say that this is how the defunct bearshare was born? of course
not, lost was not on the air 10 years ago.

bravo for getting off your cans and getting this film done; a film that anyone could have done.
however i give this movie a 7/10.

make a part 2, and use a hot shoe light, and i'll watch it.

appreciate your efforts but man this was pretty dry....i had to stop watching after about 35min....
ravna Posted at 31/12/2009, 03:38
i give them a d- for effort.
pointing a camera into the wild and just talk talk talk isn't exactly "awesome"
imho the whole lionshare thing is overhyped.
3rr0r Posted at 08/01/2010, 07:16
nice try. but ehh... it is overhyped. when i saw in pb and many other torrent sites it up i thinked
lets give a try if it is so advistered it must be good.
tought it isnt bad for an indie. it lacked something. i rly didint found out what...
start was cool... but backbone got breaked to fast. so in mid it was already really booring...

tought i wont say it was "bad" it was fine and i am sure here are lot of people who liked it.
but for me ... not again pelase.

still will look future movies to see if there have been progress

// if someone takes it as "offence" then he is just troll. kkthxbb
// mistakes. i am not english + i havent had time to check any grammar mistakes. sorry
Quaternions Posted at 09/01/2010, 01:07
i didn't like it. here are the reasons why.

* scripts/screenplay. was the main point the filesharing? or the romance? pick one and stick
with it. at first, i thought this movie was about the romance with the secondary was the file
sharing. but then it seems to switch in the middle to be the file sharing, while at the end it
seemed to swing back to the romance. however, the very end was directed to the file sharing. this
annoyed the crap out of me.

* music video. i can't believe you didn't show the finished music video. don't tease us about it
through out the movie and not give us our bone. huge faux pas.

* dialog. i thought the dialog at times seemed forced. it didn't have a natural feel about it.

*lighting. invest in some lights. this movie was way too dark for what it was about it.

i'm not going to harp on the whole "ipod" product placement thing. i didn't see it that way, i only
saw it as how it seems that almost everyone walks around with an mp3 player injecting the music
directly into their brains. it is almost how society is becoming less social and more independent.

i give the guys credit though. they took an idea and ran with it, however, just work on some of
the areas that i mentioned and i'm sure you will create a great piece of work for all of us to watch.
IODUN Posted at 09/01/2010, 04:43
personally i found the plot kinda funny. i mean look at the hilarious juxtaposition of the internet
over the protagonist who uses it to tries to tell his supposed 1 time gf about how creative he is
working on a vid for this band. then she uses the info to date the band-member(s) telltale-hilarius.
i think it's awesome. the wanker protagonist even reminds me of myself at times.

though i would have preferred to know what the results of the taste test were and what the spice
was! god damn it!

hate the music though.
