or you could use an ip filter or filter plugin for your
bittorrent program. i use safepeer for azureus and it hasnt done me wrong yet.
peer guardian works too, as a standalone.
abennett talked about ip blocklists in the first reply in this thread and ,
importantly, he also mentioned their inherent flaws.
be aware of what they can and cannot achieve and don't treat them as a magic
invisibility shield.

i dont treat it like an invisible shield, but i do put it up just in case.
several years ago i got a warning from my isp regarding shares i had on an irc
network, and ever since then i've been wary of sharing. its not like i live in
the communist dictatorship of the usa, but us canadians still have to watch out too.

who ever did first implent a way to see the ip\'s in torrent
programs is a moron.
when i read posts like this i wonder how you people figured bittorrent out.
this is how p2p works. it\'s peer to peer. it\'s inherent in the design of how the
program works. nothing goes through a central server. all the tracker does is
tell who has what. it\'s a huge phone book. if you don\'t want your number in the
book don\'t connect.
if you want to boycott the program that \"that bad guy\" wrote to find ip
addresses, you should uninstall bittorrent. it\'s how bittorrent works. that\'s
the \'genius\' behind bittorrent.
you want to find out who you\'re connected to?
start -> run -> \'cmd\' type in \'netstat\'
not that i\'d think any of you are smart enough to be using linux or bsd, but the
command is the same.
maybe the next version will have an iq test associated with the install.

smug much? if a newbie comment or question is so retarded, then just don't
answer it.

if you ask me, harassing other ppl for being stupid, is probably the first sign
of being stupid yourself.
why else do you feel the urgent need to make ppl think that your smarter then
the one you are harassing?
