flash isnt bad but its not good. been watching painkiller jane mainly because there isnt much else and it has been quite disappointing. |

yes, they canceled stargate and brought you this instead. can i get a refund? i really loved the flash gordon movie from many years back with queen doing the sound track. that was pretty true to the original. this is way to off track. the characters aren't even close. and yeah the ming guy is a real disappointment. his empire could be brought to its knees by a bottled water company. the next time a rift opens up just push a truck load of water through it and his empire will collapse, end of show. i am beginning to think that its only canadians who know how to make decent scifi anymore cause all the american writers don't even understand basic science. |

liking this show. already watched the 3 episodes twice  i'd never seen anything related to flash gordon before, maybe that's why. adaptations always disappoint fans at some level, whether they are good or not, anyways. |

like all of the super hero stuff they are doing in todays film industry they have to spend 1/2 the time introducing the characters and the story. then they can get into the meat of the plots. i mean just look at the hulk movie and the 1st spiderman movie. they spent 3/4 of the film just getting to the fact that the hulk is the hulk and spiderman is spiderman. so when you put this in tv series format thet got to spend like 10 episodes just introducing the characters and basic story setup. its like the you don't have to know anything about the comics to watch the thing approach. where back in the day with like the 90s animated marvel comic series they went into it from the point of the people watching the show know the background and characters so you don't have to spend way too much time doing that and can get to the meat of the plots. |

damn essays. this version of flash has one special power: he can disappear. can you imagine the budget meetings at sci-fi last year when they gutted bsg so they could pay for this drek? |

i find it hard to believe that anyone even finds this ok. it makes me wonder what shows they think are bad. to me this is unintentionally funny. never mind the comic nerds who'll label this as inaccurate; this show simply has some of the worst acting and plot-lines ever. my money is with some sci-fi investor pushing this for some son, daughter, person-favour-owed-to. in no conceivable reality could you produce this and feel confident with it. this must be embarrassing for all involved. funny none-the-less. |

kinda enjoyed this episode, though i hated the first and disliked the second. lowered expectations kicking in i guess, huh?

hey, this is not so bad -- ok stories, acting, directing, and pretty girls in skimpy costumes. ming could be more merciless, though. but then, i liked cleopatra 2525, so you know my standards. |

hmm, well i didnt download any because of the reviews here, and people comparing it to pkj, which im of the opinion was utter bollocks from the beginning. but then thought sod it, and got the 3 eps of this. im glad everyone here reviewed it as bad as they did.. because it's no where near as bad as i was expecting and therefore was actually not too bad - when you expect dung and get a cold meat pie, you dont mind it as much. whoever compared it to smallville is a moron (yeah it has a blok in it, uhh..). whoever compared it to pkj is retarded (yeah, and lost is like coronation street). whoever compared it to stargate sg1 is just beyond believable (if you are going to use alternate worlds as a comparison, use sliders at the very least, sheesh) because there are absolutely no similarities between any of these. shit, even the active was better than i had read here. and im not saying it's any good. just.. well, i was expecting something that would make me cringe... you know, like painkiller jane did. it's purposely offbeat in some places (if you ever watch the new dr who or torchwood, they are 100% offbeat wank by comparison) but with a decent amount of guff to keep the story moving. and yes the point of the old flash gordon was campiness, so im not complaining about the style of humor used. sure ming doesnt have mingness to him.. but so what, if you want the old show, get your videos out of the closet and play them. im still to decide if i like him however, as an evil overlord tyrant type. so far, i am content. i think people expect too much, because it's not going to win any awards thats for sure, but compare it to that utter tripe masters of sci fi. my god - that should be euthanized on the spot. having said that, i've not seen ep 3 yet. but my verdict, this is watchable, not anywhere near as bad as people have been making out and unless it developes into a complete nonsensical conglomerate of garbage, i'll keep getting it. plus, seeing a semi naked shick using a spatula and olive oil to wash herself on a deck chair, you cant go wrong ! |

this show sucks. why is it so hard to get a decent scifi show together. even if they just remade the movie into a tv series, it still would be better than this crap they have put together. and to think i had such high hopes for this show. |
