EZTV Desktop (Alpha)

i've just finished making the first version of the eztv desktop version.

in a nut-shell, it's a .net application for windows that gives you the latest tv
releases. the releases will open with your pre-installed torrent client, and you
can filter releases easily by simply show name (this is different from
your eztv 'my page' account.)

it's only in the very early stages of development, so any improvements or bug's
people might find please let me know here or by pm-ing me.

update (nov 12th 07):
new version available. fixed major bug after domain confusion. dropped tv news
for the time being -- was causing more issues. going to focus more on torrent
downloading and automation. very busy atm. sorry for inconvenience.

new version available, few bug fixes and new features (one of which is a better
installer)

fix for the gac install error with new version (1.0.0.1)

not something i would use personally, since i use a combo of rss &
myepisodes.com already, but i thought i'd post a message of support anyway
because if i didn't do the above, your app would be exactly the sort of thing
i would want 😉

this is excellent, well atleast it sounds excellent. just let me know if i got
the jist of things right, with this i can select the shows i want to watch and
it will automatically download the said shows using my installed torrent client
from eztv?

did i get it right?

i am also getting the same gac error trying to run the install. i have installed
.net framework and it still will not work. any ideas?

at the moment, no. i'm still writing the auto-download features. but in the
future, yes 🙂

did you extract everything from the rar file into a directory? or did you just
run the setup file?

extracted to a directory on my hard drive and run setup.exe

i had the same problem. downloading and installing
http://cutesoft.net/download/vs_piaredist.exe solved it.

this looks fantastic, and seeing as though i've never got rss to work in azureus
this is just what i need!

did you try the link someone posted earlier? i'm looking for a long-term fix but
i 've had no look as of yet. it's something to do with the version of the .net
framework you have installed, i believe.

try the link posted earlier in this thread, if that doesn't work, try a
re-install of the .net framework 2.0 (a search on google will bring this
straight up.)

apart from that, the only thing i can think is that you're running vista 64bit,
i have neither tested this application on windows vista, nor in a 64bit environment.

hope that you get it working though, let me know if you do and what your
solution was. thanks.
