agreed ... there appears to be a problem with the bt-chat site which is
unrelated to the original problem we were having a few weeks ago.

i also like to go to bt-chat because mvgroup hav an account there - and they
release some nice docos - along wif a couple of other doco release groups too.

internet explorer is currently having a spaz when trying to open the site and
will either abort the operation or prevent the installation of an activex
control ... ie the little yellow bar comes up but the site wont finish
loading. personally i have decided not to install the activex and wait a
couple of days to see if things get sorted out - finding mvg at mini has made
me happy camper for now. 🙂

i dunno how firefox deals with the site atm cause i dont use it.

it's up to you if u wanna try installing the activex ... but as always, at ur
own risk. if u decide to do so ... report back and let us know of any adverse
effects plz. 🙂

cheers.

in this case do post it in their forums. i am sure they will be able to help
you and also they requested that all problems direclty related to their site be
posted there.

and thats fair enuff too ... but the site wont open to post on their forums. ☹️

regardless aydin, you are correct ... eztv is not bt-chat so there's really
not much that can be done about it from here. :s

please oh please...stop bugging eztv with problems about bt-chat all the time on
here. we do have our own irc channel at #bt-chat on efnet. i don't want eztv to
get annoyed every time they get complaints and have to pass it on to us, and
eventually they might end up removing our link on their site all together. as
for the problems, they don't seem directly related to our site, as everyone else
aren't having problems. i would suggest using a better browser like firefox or
opera. i have no problems with firefox myself, and i don't see what would cause
your problem outside of that. just please stop posting on eztv's forum about our
site, they don't need to hear about it.

sooooo sorry nbtx i was not bugging eztv with problems and this is the last
time i will post ... i was only asking due to the fact i couldnt get into bt
chat was wondering if anyone else was having the same trouble is all... so
please pull your attitude in and read what i wrote
actually it was a fault with bt chat one which i have never had before the
only reason i posted here was it was from here i go to bt chat also i dont
post often but i have found eztv replies to be polte and helpful up until ur
post that is
the browser i use i like so i will stick at it thankyou very much
appologies to eztv
but to u nbtx stick it in your pipe and smoke it
there see how u like it

i give up ,,,,, i was asking a simple question politely .... not complaing or
moaning about anyone or thing i solved the problem and get spoken to like i
stole the crown jewels
i knew of the previous problems etc etc but for once it would be nice
if people actually read what was written
well i quit
i asked politely was curtious but boy everyone now jump on my wagon nice to be
able to ask something and get jumped on not by all it seems
as for posting here at the time it was my only option as i had previously
written and thanked the people who replied but hey looks like i was wrong to
even ask a question ill think long and hard before i do again because sheesh
so please moderators if you wish to delete this thread by all means do so as i
seemed to have upset 1 or 2 people

like i said previously thankyou eztv
and thanks for the info given
ok now iam outta here

thankyou dornedec for that appreciated

as for one having a right to 'attitude' well thats wrong
i didnt come here to bitch or moan or complain put down another site etc etc
like i said i asked the ? ...i solved the problem ....
people 'with attitude' dont get very far in buisness as it doesnt give the
right image for that buissiness no matter what it is

skit, i have exactly the same problem with bt-chat, i get an operation aborted
message. i didn't notice it because i rarely use bt-chat links but i tested
it after reading this thread.

just purely for reference, the browser i'm using that it doesn't work with is
maxthon v1.6.3 which is the version based on ie6.

i also have firefox, and a newer version of maxthon (based on ie7) which the
site works fine on.

not really a problem because i always use the mininova links, just thought i'd
post this information in case its of any use to anyone.

fine, ok same here using ie7 not the link, the site h ttp://www.bt-chat.com/?
mode=group&group=2

but as above, rarely use it directly

skitzofreak just though i should point out my earlier post
wasn't that 'any'
attitude was ok, just that bt-chat are sick of coming here to find people
complaining about their site having problems when it comes down to the dumbarse
at the pc not having their damn browser set right.... bitching about a site
that
is working as well as it can on megre funds...

you i think should go stick you head up your arse to find some brain cells then
go use nutscrape... you might find better connectivity then with ie...

oh and also go fuck yourself!!!!!!!!!!!

hostile much?

i think its to be expected that queries about the primary mirror on this site
not working correctly are going to crop up here. also, define not having your
browser set up right. if by that you mean allowing popups and active x
components then i don't want my browser 'set up right'.

also, you have no idea and cannot speculate that their fund situation is
meagre. i would imagine with the level of traffic they're getting they'd be
doing pretty well for themselves with all the advertising they have. i've
seen many websites up and running more efficiently with far less advertising
than bt-chat. (just look at mininova if you want a market comparison)

but all this is besides the point. while the admins from eztv are in no way
responsible for any problems bt-chat has, it is arguable that because this
site is directing a significant amount of traffic to bt-chat that a
representative from bt-chat should answer queries and concerns from these
forums without getting aggrevated about it. it's a service after all, and
with all the advertising, a service they're getting paid to operate.
