the simple fact is that this stuff doesn't come for free. honestly we would love
to run the site without ads. it would be great. however, the staff cannot be
expected to continually top up the funds every month, as it is completely
unaffordable - we are not talking about $14 adsl connections here, it is a high
intensity high bandwidth site, and it costs a lot to run. hopefully soon, it
will be possible to take off these pop-ups, as they are apparently causing an
issue.
however it is not our policy, nor is it the content providers to allow trojans
and/or virii. i have never encountered a warning about a virus. i'm not saying
that it doesn't happen or that some of them do not contain something that
shouldn't be there, however a lot of what av programs call trojans are not
really the case. if you run something like ad-aware, that considers cookies as
trojans - which they clearly aren't.
