hey is this based on the original movie from way back? i watched that, and that
was awesome, can anyone say if this is as good or better then the original? )

this was a decent update to the story, i never really liked the film as it was
too linear but this pulls it's weight.

i rarely comment on anything here, but i got to say this was one the best
scifi mini series i watched in quite a while! whoever said this was a cheap
copy cat either didn't really watch it or is under the effect of the andromeda
strain
it's got jin a very good cast, very good production values and top notch
special effects.. of course the story is excellent..
roll on the second eppisode asap

good translation from the book, and a great update from the original movie. all
the characters are pretty believable (although the president seems to be doing a
jfk impression) and the special effects are as good as a theatrical release (no
cheesy scf-fi channel effects). looking forward to seeing part 2 whenever it
becomes available. michael crichton should be proud of this version.
9/10 rating for me. 8)

idk if i want to dl this and get drawn into another mini series just to be
disappointed in the end, like with "john adams" -- not that "john adams" wasn't
a good mini series... it's just that the final freakin' episode wasn't
released! :@

having not read the book or watched the original i found this to be very good.
i intend to watch the original before the second episode so i may become
disheartened but right now i found this to be an exciting show while there has
been so much disinterest in sci-fi shows (jericho ending, short run of kings of
sci-fi[or whatever it was called], battlestar final series).
rock on with the sci-fi.

i thought it was ok...i found the violence very ott and unreal (bloomin' cgi
effects again) - e.g. the chainsaw bit. and i don't think this is a
spoiler...but the eagle made me laugh.
