well i was disappointed, but it wasn't as bad as i've been reading. the acting is bad all the way around...the writing is worse. keep one thing in mind though, its flash gordon. it was campy when i came out, and the series is campy. hopefully the feel of the show is intentional, and people get that. i thought the effects were cool, and looked good. another thing that looked good was the hottie actresses. if only the camera angle were a little different when showing the girl in the red dress in the field. *grin* there is a few seconds of a firefly preview commercial, but not enough for a proper. nice quality hdtv video and audio. sync is good. catbox |

i'd have to say this as my summary... i thought it was terrible, but people should download it and see for themselves. i was pretty disappointed by this; i love the old flash gordon comics and the old movie was a fun thing, i was really hoping for something to capture the old essence of that. instead we have a show that features unappealing, bland characters being portrayed by bad actors (karen cliche? seriously? this was the best they could do?) and a plot so far off track that it can't really be compared to the original concept. i realize that we live in an age where style is more important than substance, but this show lacks both. i can't even figure out who the target audience is supposed to be. the washed up, unappealing characters aren't going to draw in the oc crowd, the plot is too bland and straight forward to attract the adventure/mystery seekers that made lost a hit, and the poor treatment of the source material is (as we can see) already alienating most of the people who might enjoy it for the sci-fi thrill or the nostalgia factors. still, that being said, people should decide for themselves, but i wouldn't recommend getting your hopes up. other than a few giggles scattered throughout, watching the pilot felt like 2 hours wasted when i could have been sleeping. and i think the sleeping would have been more enjoyable. |

the show is undoubtedly canadian. this accounts for some of the bad acting. no offense but canada has an abundance of low quality sci-fi actors as is seen. it looks liek it will be a decent watch. i will be interested to see if it last a full season. |

as one who grew up watching the originals and although they were old even then i still to this day think it was a great show i can still remember feeling pity for the clay people what is disapointing here is the whole portal theme they need the ship back i agree the acting was not to great but the thing that i found to really annoy me was ming was more like a boy band member than master of evil i will continue to watch for now though |

some people pay for that  shows what you would expect from a comic book/tv series remake, maybe the writers of painkiller jane did breed.. i still watched it and will get the next one  |

i couldn't agree more, i was really looking forward to this series but you can bet i'll not bother with any more episodes. if ever there was a series that shouldn't have been aired then this is it. |

i don't believe in condemning a show after only 1 episode. that's like reading one chapter of a book and not giving the author a chance to build either plot or character. |

i'd rather that smallville spinoff of aquaman get picked up. the pilot was just as good as smallville really. this was just bad. everyone has said things that i've thought about it. actually, i'd love it if firefly, dresden, or drive continued. even that mini series the lost room, i thought was good and should have been developed into an ongoing show. all better than this show. |

this show is total garbage on what network does it air? it looks like a canadian low budget series :the cast sucks,f/x sucks,score sucks all this based on a story that sucks sucked 20 years ago still sucks today... actually i have not seen that much sucking since glory holes vol i |

i was saddened by my confusion. i kept waiting for flash to be frozen and go to the future and was totally choked that everything was changed from the flash i recalled as a child, it wasnt until the end of the crime that i realized i was thinking of buck rogers so screw you mr.gordon! |

out of curiosity i went to the scifi.com message boards to see what they were saying in the official forums, and they are much worse than we are doing here. this show will be cancelled soon. i'd bet my life on it. |
